First of all, I am not close to any of the two legislators Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile and Senate Minority Floor Leader Alan Peter Cayetano, nor am I knowledgeable about the legal and even financial intricacies of their budget and political debate regarding the controversial Christmas bonuses. However, I strongly believe that dragging the Senate debates to personalistic attacks and even dredging up criticisms of deceased persons are unbecoming of any legislator.

I urge Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile to not criticize dead people in public, especially over personal animosities which have no direct bearing or even relevance to Philippine political issues. Enrile is a wise and experienced political giant, there is no need for him to attack a deceased person and who reportedly was hid former colleague or even once a close ally.

  1. I would say that both honorable gentlemen showed a conduct unbecoming of their office, more so the actuation of JPE's supposedly paramour.
